Shalom, Dykes is a grassroots community creating joyful, visible, welcoming spaces for Jewish dykes* and all who want to be part of this community.

Founded in 2024 in response to growing isolation, antisemitism, and exclusion in queer spaces surrounding and following October 7, Shalom, Dykes exists for one simple reason: so Jewish dykes can exist fully and freely as themselves, no questions asked.

Our community lives across the New York metro, from Connecticut to New Jersey and beyond, bringing together dykes across generations, backgrounds, denominations, identities, and experiences. Some of us are lifelong activists. Some are newly exploring their Jewish identity. Or their queer identity. Or both. Some arrive grieving, angry, isolated, or uncertain. All come looking for joy, friendship, celebration, or simply a place to exhale.
